Avionics Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my aircraft be down?

Down time on your aircraft will be as short as possible given the scope of the work being done. Every customer is provided with an installation schedule that will include a finish date. Should we encounter any potential delays during the installation, you will be notified immediately. Our goal is to ensure a top quality installation while maintaining a very tight delivery schedule.

Will my new system require specialized training to operate?

Most new equipment comes with demo software or videos to make the transition easier.  Although simple installations don’t require much in the way of specialized training, we sit down and discuss operations with every customer to ensure proficiency in the operation of your new equipment before you leave.  If specialized training is required, we will assist you in finding an applicable training solution.  Your complete satisfaction with every new system is our number one goal!

What is the expected life span of my avionics upgrade?

While there is no way to guarantee the effective life span of a given piece of avionics equipment due to ever changing technology and aviation regulations, you can rest assured our avionics department prides itself on staying in tune with the latest in avionics technology and its appropriate application.  With this in mind, we work to ensure the systems we install will remain effective as long as possible.

Do you have loaners?

Yes, we have a large inventory of loaners on-hand.  If we don’t have a particular piece of equipment, we can usually obtain a loaner or rental unit within a day.

How many years have you been doing this?

Eagle Aviation has been performing avionics installations at the Columbia Metropolitan Airport since 1967 and our professional staff has over 70 years of combined experience.
